Sydnei Murphy, a 2015 Apex High School graduate, was an extraordinary track & field athlete who set seven individual school records that still stand today. Her exceptional performances in long jump and triple jump ranked her among the top athletes in North Carolina’s history. Sydnei’s high school career was marked by numerous conference, regional, and state championships, including eight individual state titles in her final two years. She also excelled nationally, with multiple top-four finishes in horizontal jumps. At Duke University, Sydnei continued her stellar athletic career in both track & field and cheerleading, earning All-ACC honors and setting school records. After graduating from Duke and earning a master’s degree from Harvard, Sydnei now works as a Sustainability Specialist at Cisco, demonstrating her commitment to making a positive impact on the planet through her professional and volunteer work.
