Thomas “Keith” Posey

Keith Posey, a 1973 Apex High School graduate, excelled both academically and athletically. As an honor student and member of various clubs, he was voted “Outstanding Senior” and “Most Outstanding Athlete.” Keith’s athletic journey began at age 10 with local recreation sports, preparing him for his high school career. At Apex High, he participated in track, basketball, baseball, and football, distinguishing himself particularly in football as the Capital Area’s Back of the Year in 1972. His athletic prowess culminated in receiving the “Most Valuable Player” awards for both football and baseball in 1973. After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Geology, Keith pursued a successful career in the gas and oil industry in Texas from 1978 until his retirement in 2015, while also enjoying golf, diving, and world travel. Sadly, Keith passed away in October 2023. His family takes great pride in his athletic accomplishments and contributions during his time at Apex High School, remembering him as an exceptional athlete and individual.
