Kristen Harris Cain led the Apex Cougars to their first-ever volleyball state championship in 2011, capping off a perfect 27-0 season as team captain. Her dominant senior year earned her the prestigious Gatorade North Carolina Volleyball Player of the Year award and State Championship MVP honors. The three-year varsity captain helped establish Apex as a volleyball powerhouse, with the team reaching as high as 8th in national rankings. After graduating, she continued her excellence at Elon University on a full scholarship before returning to Apex to start her family and give back to the volleyball community.
